Privacy Policy
How Overbar, the first pull-up coach for iPhone and iPad, handles your data. Updated October 27, 2026. Read it with the Terms of Use.
The short version
Overbar has no account. Your answers, workouts and progress stay on your iPhone or iPad. To fix crashes and learn which parts of the app help people train, it sends usage and crash reports tied to a random ID, never to your name. To ask about that data or have it deleted, email support@chileks.com. We don’t sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps.
What stays on your device
Your onboarding answers (such as age, height, weight and equipment), your plan, workout results, streaks and settings are saved in the app’s storage on your device. Your name, exact age, height, weight, pain reports and anything you write to Obie never leave it. The widgets read a small summary of your progress from storage shared only with the Overbar widgets. If you use iCloud or device backups, Apple includes this data in your backup.
Usage and crash reports
What’s sent: the steps you reach in the app and the features you use (such as each quiz step, seeing the paywall, finishing a session or an exercise, opening a reminder or a widget), some of your quiz answers (your age range, such as 25 to 34, the sex you picked, your pull-up experience, how long you can hang, how many push-ups you can do, your equipment, schedule and reminder time, and why you want a pull-up), your plan and progress (stage, readiness, streak and sessions done), settings such as text size and whether widgets and Live Activities are on, whether you subscribe and the price Apple charged, and crash reports with your device model and iOS version. The age range and sex help us see who finishes setting up the app and tune the first pull-up forecast. Your approximate country comes from your IP address. All of it is tied only to a random ID for each install, which isn’t linked to you and goes when you delete the app.
Who receives them
Usage reports go to Amplitude and to Google Firebase (Analytics), and crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics. They process this data for us as service providers, under contracts that require them to protect it as we do, and not for advertising. We use it only to fix problems and improve Overbar. Crash reports are kept for 90 days, usage data for no more than two years.
Obie, the coach
Obie, the in-app coach, uses Apple Intelligence on your iPhone or iPad. Your questions, your plan and Obie’s answers are processed on the device and never sent to us or anyone else; usage reports only note that a question was asked. You can turn Obie off in the You tab.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, email or payment details. The app checks with Apple whether your subscription is active, and its usage reports include which plan you chose and what Apple charged.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device and no push service is used. Usage reports note when a reminder opens the app, never what it said.
Photos
If you tap Save Image on a share card, the app asks to add that image to your photo library. It can’t read your photos.
Links
Research links open in an in-app browser. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
Children
Overbar is meant for people 13 and older.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device, including its random ID, except one date: when the one-time offer ends, kept in your device’s Keychain so the offer can’t start over. To ask about or request deletion of usage data linked to your app installation, email support@chileks.com. Contact support in the You tab writes that email for you, with your install’s usage ID in it, so we can find the data.
Changes and contact
Overbar is made by Aleksandr Chichkanov (“we”, “us”). If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app with a new date. Questions: support@chileks.com.
